Welcome! I'm Gabriela Morais Daniels, co-founder and CEO of Blue Haven Insurance Agency, and I'm so glad you're here.
My story begins in Minas Gerais, Brazil, where I grew up before making the brave decision to build a new life in the United States. That journey of navigating a new country, a new language, and a completely unfamiliar system taught me lessons I carry with me every single day in this business.
I remember what it felt like to need insurance and not fully understand what I was buying. I remember the confusion of filing my first claim, wondering if I was doing it right, worried about saying the wrong thing. I remember sitting in offices where no one spoke my language, trying to piece together important decisions that would affect my family's security. I remember the courage it took to pursue my MBA while balancing work, bills, and building a life from the ground up.
Those experiences didn't just shape me. They became my purpose.
My Background
I'm trilingual, fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese, which means I can truly communicate with you in the language where you feel most comfortable and confident. No lost meanings, no confusion, no nodding along when you don't fully understand. My professional background is in finance and professional services, which gave me deep knowledge of how insurance, business structures, risk management, and financial protection really work. But my lived experience as an immigrant gave me something education alone never could: empathy, patience, and a genuine understanding of the challenges so many of my clients face every day.
My Life Today
Today, I'm blessed to call both Charleston, South Carolina, and Tampa, Florida, home, where I live with my wonderful husband and our 1-year-old miniature lab, Pipoca (that's "Popcorn" in Portuguese!). If you look closely at our logo, you'll see Pipoca is actually the inspiration behind it. He brings joy to everything we do, and that spirit of warmth and happiness is what I want every client to feel when they work with Blue Haven.
